HP Revolving Loan

In the Southwestern corner of Uganda, a small program makes a big difference in the lives of women.  Through this small little-known program, women are pulling themselves out of poverty.

Women are the backbone of their families and communities, but they often lack access to the same opportunities as men. Girls Freedom offers a revolving loan through our revolving loan fund funded by private donations with operational support provided through GHL.Solutions that offer small loans to local women entrepreneurs. This program gives women the opportunity for financing not otherwise available, which can help build business confidence and support existing planning.

Using existing relationships, the revolving fund staff support hospital staff, local vendors, and women entrepreneurs. Small loans start at $50 and go up to $250. So a woman might borrow $50 and repay it in the allotted time of four months. Once repaid, another larger loan can be made.

The Girls Freedom revolving loan program is funded through contributions by GHL Solutions, Merry Homes, and aNecklaceforme.com raising another woman out of poverty and to self-sufficiency. We provide small loans to local women entrepreneurs.

Here’s a grateful participant. Agnes borrowed money.

These small loans have a significant impact on the women that receive them. Agnes was jobless and looking to start her own business. She found a trusted partner in IHP and received a small loan to and then another to open her own vegetable stall in the Ishaka Town Market. Here’s her story.

Empowering Community Women

When it comes to empowering women, one important way to do so is through access to financial opportunities. Too often, women lack the same access to loans and other forms of financing that men have, which can hold them back from starting or growing their businesses.

That’s why Girls Freedom offers a revolving loan fund, which provides small loans to local women entrepreneurs. This can make a big difference for women who might not otherwise have access to financing, and can help them build their business confidence and support their existing plans.

The revolving loan fund staff work with hospital staff, local vendors, and women entrepreneurs to make sure that everyone is getting the most out of the program. Loans start at $50 and can go up to $250. So a woman might borrow $50 and repay it in the allotted time of four months. Once repaid, another larger loan can be made.

This type of small loans program is crucial for empowering women especially in rural and semi-urban communities and townships. By offering financial opportunity, it helps them reach their full potential. To learn more about the revolving loan fund or to donate, please visit our website. Thank you for your support!
